The Forum Project Intern
The Forum Project (TFP) is seeking a creative, energetic and dedicated intern to help coordinate, facilitate and document multiple aspects of TFP’s programmatic work in critical pedagogy and theatre for social justice. The TFP Intern will assist with the planning and execution of our community outreach efforts, trainings, workshops, conference presentations, partnership development, fundraising and other administrative projects as they arise. The intern will also have the opportunity to train with TFP’s Co-Founders, Alex Santiago-Jirau and S. Leigh Thompson, facilitators with over 12 years of experience in the teaching and implementation of Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) methodologies.
Responsibilities could include any or all of the following: updating the organization’s Facebook page; adding content to TFP website; research; grant writing; documentation, photography and videography of workshops, organization and partner outreach and engagement; promotion of TFP activities; other administrative tasks as assigned.
Some knowledge of TO techniques, strong work ethic and administrative skills, attention to detail, ability to handle various projects simultaneously, and a passion for working with and on behalf of oppressed communities are required. Academic credit is provided if applicable. Interns must be available to work 10-20 hours a week. Community organizers, activists, educators, social justice artists, women, people of color, queer and trans persons, bilingual candidates and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
