Join The Forum Project for two FREE workshops in NYC this month: Arte Útil: Pedagogical Projects at Queens Museum of Art and Me? A “Teacher?!” Exploring educator roles using Theatre of the Oppressed at New York Trade School.
Our popular, one-day workshop is back! In this workshop we will introduce you to the work of Theatre of the Oppressed and prepare you for using Theatre of the Oppressed techniques in your work and communities, while having lots of fun in the process!
How do we fight internalized oppression? How do the oppressive structures and functions in society inhibit our liberation? How can theatre open the way to greater personal freedom?
Are you a teacher, student teacher, professor, community educator, teaching artist, youth development professional or school counselor? Do you want to explore new ways to address the issues students and educators face in school and beyond? If you have interest in critical education, justice, performance as a tool of transformation, or issues of oppression, then this workshop is for you!
Theatre of the Oppressed offers tools not only to communicate about an issue, but also to brainstorm new strategies for action! Join us as we explore these creative techniques that help us build movements towards social change.
